ALL ABOUT MS. KNIGHT
EDUCATION
I earned my degree from Southwest Texas State University. After graduating from college in San Marcos, I was luckier than I could ever have imagined to get a teaching position at Health Careers High School. It is a school for students with goals of going into the medical field. I taught biology, anatomy and physiology and environmental science for 6 years there.
After leaving HCHS, I taught eighth grade science for one year at O. Henry Middle School in Austin.
This is my 23rd year of teaching at DSMS. I have taught 8th grade science and 7th grade science. This is my fifth year of teaching Outdoor Education. I am LOVING OUTDOOR EDUCATION and am so proud of the attention it is getting in our community!
The change of course has given me a new direction in education. Teaching OE has been a blessing. I love the opportunity to encourage students to get outdoors.

MY FAMILY
I live in Dripping Springs with my daughter, Sara. After school, I love to take the dogs for walks, work out, piddle in the yard and in my butterfly garden.
We have a wound-up terrier named Gabby, a snuggling Chiweenie named Skippy and a Golden Retriever named Ranger.
We LOOOOOVE our doggies!
My girls and I love spending time outdoors. We love to go fishing, swimming, hunting and hanging out at the ranch every chance we get.
I am a regular cheerer at Tiger football, volleyball and baseball games!
I love to watch our Tigers!
My oldest daughter, Emery, is a senior at Texas Tech, and is finishing her degree while working a fantastic job in Lubbock. My youngest is a senior at DSHS. She is a member of HOSA. We have a great time attending concerts in the area and being active in our church.
MY SUMMER
Okay, the picture above was from six years ago in Hawaii. It was a fantastic summer!
Last summer, we visited friends and family in Colorado and we had a great time mountain biking, visiting a Wolf Sanctuary and soaking in the hot springs.

Last summer, I traveled to Mexico, by Puerta Vallarta, where I was able to release baby turtles into the ocean.

I LOVE IT when my students bring me pictures of them having fun outdoors! I have a board dedicated to student pictures!

The photo at the left, is a 25lb. bull redfish that I caught! It was a blast
working her into the boat!
Below is a picture of Skippy driving the boat.
